James Hummel, M.Ed., APC
James believes therapy starts with getting to know the person, not just the problem that brings them into the room. His approach is grounded in creating a space where clients can feel heard, understood, and comfortable being themselves. He is especially interested in person-centered and narrative approaches, which focus on understanding the stories we carry about ourselves and recognizing that those stories can change over time. As a therapist, he brings curiosity, openness, and a genuine willingness to learn alongside his clients. He believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, and he enjoys exploring different approaches to find what feels most helpful for each individual. His goal is to meet people where they are and work together toward greater understanding, confidence, and meaningful change. He is interested in working with people from all backgrounds and stages of life. Whether someone is navigating a specific challenge or simply trying to better understand themselves, he hopes to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where they can explore what matters to them and where they want to go next.
