Gloria Chou, MSOT, OTR/L
Hua-Kuo "Gloria" Chou, MSOT, OTR/L received her bachelor of science degree in occupational therapy from National Taiwan University in the Republic of China in 1984, and Masters of Science in occupational therapy from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1992. Ms. Chou has more than 30 years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy. Ms. Chou is certified in Sensory Integration Praxis Test by SII and is a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist by Evergreen. She is trained with "Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention", and to use sound therapy with the "Therapeutic Listening" program. She is certified in using the physical agent modality in Georgia. She also has extensive experience in the NDT approach and providing services to patients with autism, feeding difficulty, psychosocial dysfunction, and behavioral difficulty. Ms. Chou was the first formal full-time pediatric occupational therapist to work at Grady Health System, which she developed and supervised the pediatric OT team for the Hughes Spalding Children's Hospital. She worked for Georgia's number one pediatric hospital, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, for more than 11 years, at which point she mentored and trained many occupational therapists. She has been in private practice since her days at CHOA, providing occupational therapy to patients in the age range of 0-18 with diagnosis of ex-premie, feeding/swallowing difficulty, failure to thrive, oral motor dysfunction, CP, stroke, sensory integration dysfunction, Autism/PDD, ADHD, learning disability, brachial plexus injury, head injury, developmental delay, and a variety of congenital disorders.
