Jia Liu, MS, CCC-SLP
Jia is a Speech Language Pathologist. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Teaching Chinese as a second language from the Beijing Institute of Language and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Alabama. Jia has extensive experience in various areas of speech, language and hearing disorders including Apraxia, Articulation, Attention Deficit, Auditory Processing, Augmentative Communication, Developmental Delays, Neurogenic Disorders, and Sensory, Social and Behavioral Deficiencies. Jia’s special interests include treating children with disabilities, autism and autistic-like behaviors as well as working with children that have language and learning disabilities. Jia brings with her a wealth of management experience. In 2004, she co-founded Helping Hands Therapy, a therapy company based in Alabama with a focus on helping children and adults primarily in rural settings. As Director of Clinical Services at Helping Hands Therapy, Jia established and implemented various treatment protocol for pediatric services for children of all ages in both the clinical and school setting. With her and her co-founders efforts, Helping Hands Therapy is now one of the largest pediatric therapy companies in Alabama delivering services to over 30 school districts, several outpatient clinics and a variety of other of services in adult settings. Even though Jia has worked in other settings such as Skilled Nursing Facilities, she loves working with children and seeing them grow and achieve. She feels blessed to be able to work in a career that she enjoys.
